Rose enthusiasts from around the world will descend on Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from June 18 to 24, 2009 for the internationally acclaimed World Rose Convention and Festival. This event is the ultimate rose experience.

The World Rose Convention 2009 is being held from June 18 to 24, 2009 at the Westin Bayshore Hotel, Vancouver. More than 800 rosarians from 41 countries will come together for seven days of lectures, workshops, idea exchanges, research, garden tours and more. There are 23 prominent rose specialists from all corners of the globe speaking at the Convention on a diverse list of topics.

In addition to the Convention, the World Rose Festival, featuring the World Rose Show, is being held from June 19 to 21, 2009 at the newly expanded Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre. An anticipated 15,000 flower enthusiasts from the general public will come to learn and share everything about the rose. Anyone who grows Roses can enter the Rose Show! This Vancouver Rose Society (VRS) annual show will have a greatly expanded program as it hosts the American Rose Society (ARS) 2009 Spring Convention Challenge Classes, the Pacific Northwest District (PNWD) Challenge Classes, and the Canadian Rose Society (CRS) Trophy Classes. Registration requirements and the show schedule are being finalized and will be posted in the rose show section of the website (www.worldrose-vancouver2009.com) when ready.

An exciting line up of orchid vendors and displays will highlight this unique plant sale blooming at the Vandusen Botanical Gardens Floral Hall. Two days of retail therapy within the lush surroundings of the VanDusen Botanical Gardens, this event will feature a unique collection of plants sold by local and international orchid vendors. Check out our Vendors section for pre orders - For 2009, we are honoured to have Ching Hua Orchids of (Taiwan) and Ecuagenera (Ecuador) participating in our special event. Please note pre-orders for Ching Hua is Friday, March 13. Visit our site as our vendor's list continues to grow with our collection of participating local vendors!

The Vancouver Orchid Festival is proud to be a supporter of the Pacific Northwest Judging Center, VanDusen Botanical Gardens and the Loving Spoonful. A Loving Spoonful enhances the quality of life for men, women and children living with HIV by meeting their basic need for food. Plants improve our quality of life by adding colour and vitality; and improve our air quality while accentuating our living spaces. Part of the proceeds from admissions will benefit the Pacific Northwest Judging Center, A Loving Spoonful and VanDusen Botanical Garden.
